I’ve purchased probably 20 packs of Hanak hooks from C.A. and have always been 100% satisfied with them. When I saw the new model came out, I had to try it. I opened the container and the first hook I pulled out was deformed. It has 2 places where it looks smashed/flattened. The gape was also bent. I haven’t tied on the others yet because im a bit concerned about the quality of this batch. 230bls and 450bl are both the best I’ve tried though.

I’ve used hundreds of these hooks in sizes 16 & 18 and have never found a flaw in any of them .

On paper this looks to be a very nice hook. Don’t be fooled. The sizes 6-14 are decent but once you get into the 16-20 you find a lot of weird variances with how the hook is formed. Weird points, different gauges of wire with spotty finishes.
I like Hanak hooks, sometimes. These have nearly put me off the brand though. I’ve lost some of my largest fish to date on the size 18/20 due to points rolling and or fracturing.
