MX-D is a hybrid blob material, which combines its acclaimed eggstasy yarn with fritz fibers together. The result gives you the best features of both materials on the same core. The color/shape of a fritz blob combined with the super effective ‘slushy’ texture of our eggstasy. The material is 18mm in size, slightly larger than conventional blob material and is perfect for stillwater trout blobs/FABS, steelhead flies. Also on larger predator flies such as pike or saltwater flies.
French partridge hackles are probably the most popular feather used in tying wet mayfly patterns. They are generally tied as the front hackle. They also can easily be tied in by the stalk or by the tip. The natural French Partridge hackles create some beautiful mayflies.
